Five time Ironman Champion Linsey Corbin shares her wisdom from a decade of racing

IronWomen is Presented by Sara Gross & Alyssa Godesky

Five time Ironman Champion Linsey Corbin joins Sara and Alyssa on the IronWomen podcast this week to talk about her eventful and successful career. Linsey won a string of Ironman races culminating in Austria in 2014, where she set an American record. In 2015, she suffered a setback and has returned with a fervor to win again. Hear about Linsey’s diet, her love of dogs and her observations about the future of the sport she loves.

In other news, Alyssa races in Taiwan while her bike vacations in LA, the Wildflower Triathlon is back and a shark is spotted on the swim course at Ironman 70.3 Busselton in Western Australia.

Podcast length: 28′ 07″

Linsey suffered a stress fracture of her femur and found the mental aspect of recovering from injury to be a challenge:

“I learned some good lessons from it but it was a frustrating year for me…just the emotional roller coaster. Anyone who has been injured knows that you wake up and you feel good and you’re like; good, I’m making progress and really hopeful, and the next day you wake up and you have some weird ache or pain and you’re over-reading into it and then the whole world is ending, and the next day you wake up and you’re hopeful again and it’s just this vicious horrible cycle.”
