Olympic silver medalist Lucinda Fredericks has shifted her focus from four star goals to bringing on the next generation of riders
The Horse Show is presented by Chris Stafford
Podcast length: 49’21”
Chris’ guest this week is British based Lucinda Fredericks who is a familiar name to anyone in eventing having been in the sport since her Junior and Young Rider years turned to a successful senior career with a string of 3 and 4 star horses. Her partnership with Headley Brittania captured the big three – Badminton, Burghley and Kentucky before the mare retired to the breeding barn. Lucinda’s team silver medal on the Australian team in the Beijing Olympic Games was another career highlight followed by a second Olympics in London. While her focus has shifted away from four star level she still has a full yard and her focus now is on training the younger generation, and importantly being the groom for her daughter Ellie.
Lucinda has some great advice for young eventers on best practices and the important details that will help make your career a success off the horse.
