Women’s cycling has come a long way since skirts and dresses were the kit of the day but are women still making the most out of the freedom that riding a bike offers?

Off the Front is hosted by Elizabeth Emery

Podcast length 51’33”

On this month’s show (the final episode in the season) Elizabeth Emery talks to two influencers in the world of women’s cycling. For close to eight years Diane Jenks has hosted a weekly radio show, Outspoken Cyclist, which is also available as a podcast. She talks with notables from the wide range of cycling including industry, advocacy, and the cycling community of manufacturers, bicycle builders, riders, trainers, coaches, and legislators. Diane also has 36 years of bicycle shop experience so talks about fit, performance, and training. We hear about podcasting, her perspective on cycling after being involved for so long, and women in cycling.

Dutch born Anne-Marije Rook is a multilingual journalist currently living in Seattle, Washington. She has worked in media for well over a decade including print, radio, online, and photojournalism. Currently Anne-Marije works as the editor of Ella CyclingTips, where she covers the racing, equity in the sport, and tech.  She is passionate about all kinds of cycling which you will definitely hear in the interview.  Anne-Marije is also an active transportation advocate, an elite bike racer, as well as cycling coach and mentor. To encourage more people to get out on a bike, she does her best to ride with everyone who asks. Elizabeth can’t wait until she’s in Seattle to take Anne-Marije up on that, and she offers the same to those of you who are cycling in Cleveland. First we hear what kind of riding Anne-Marije is doing herself these days.

The road season just started so visit the women’s cycling page on to find out everything that’s going on in women’s cycling. You’ll even find links to live coverage of racing.
